We went on the south side food tour this week. The food was great and hearing the small business owners talk about themselves and the food was very interesting. It went far beyond my expectations. Shane, the tour guide, demonstrated great flexibility when 1 of the scheduled stops was closed. I will do their tours on the other parts of the island.

I was lucky enough to experience this with a group of friends. Katherine looked after us and introduced us to some amazingly passionate people. The stand outs for me were definitely Judy at Haole Girl Sweets ( no photos as I ate everything) and Ali & Gabe at Avalon Gastro Pub, food was special and the Jalapeno Smoked Margarita was to die for. Definitely a tour that introduced local produce and not the big chain restaurants.

We had Susan as our tour guide...she was terrific. Each stop was very nice in its own way. Plenty to eat, too. None of like the taro, but I guess that was expected. Really loved meeting the local small business owners! You should go!
