While I did a number of tours while I was in Kauai I found this one to be the one I remembered the most. It was a great way to learn about what's grown on the island, the lives of the people who live & work on the island and some of the foods of Hawaii! Also because it was quite casual I got to talk to other people on the tour while we shared food we were tasting. I found that enjoyable as I was traveling solo. I cancelled my dinner reservations after this tour because I was so full....we ate quite a bit as we went to so many places! I found the food purveyors passionate about what they did, about the local food sources & farming and enjoyed their passion for food. It also encouraged me to personally try things I'd never eaten. I honestly can't say I would have found some of these places just looking on Yelp or on the internet..they were tucked into other venues & places. Enjoyed the laidback vibe and the food very much. Recommend this tour!

We have been to Kauai many times and have eaten in many of the restaurants from food trucks to expensive fine dining, but have never been on a food tasting tour itself. I was surprised but also delighted at what I had missed, from the pastries and deserts to the variety of ethnic offerings with explanations of food sources, selection and preparation. We did the East Side tour and look forward to other island tours on the future. For those who like to eat, this tour should not be missed.

We recently moved to Kaua'i but we have always enjoyed food tours. So we thought what better way to get to know our new home than to take a food tour in Hanalei. It was more than we could have ever hoped for. For starts, our guide Susan was as knowledgeable and passionate about food as she was about Kaua'i. The places we visited were all in close proximity but very varied. I loved them all from the Kalua pork at a food truck, to an amazing bakery with variety of breads, to a luscious cucumber mint slushy, then an amazing gourmet pizza and hamburger at gas station, a dried fruit stand with Hawaiian fruits that were surprisingly outstanding in every way, and the finale at Tiki Aniki with a Mai Tai and Ribs. Talk about getting your money's worth!! And also now we know so much more about Hanalei's amazing food experiences. Thank you Susan and the wonderful folks at Tasting Kaua'i !!!!! Loved it.
