This was my 2nd go with Tasting Kauai and it is still amazing. DO go hungry as you will be well fed throughout with the most amazing local foodie delights:) Marta and her hubby do an amazing job finding small local treasures. Highlights this trip? Makai Sushi, Kickshaws Food Truck (I will go back again and again), Monkeypod Jam. This food tour is worth more than what you pay. Highly recommend and will do it a 3rd time when I return to Kauai

WE went on the Eastside tour and hit a varity of places including a farm, shave ice and very pricey upscale place. All were interesting and we were well received. The tour goes in the afternoon when restaurants are not open/busy. Got a chance to chat with the chefs and sample great and very different food. Marta is a food writer and knows the local scene well. It seems a bit pricey going in, but turns out to be worth it. Don't eat before going.

A true local culinary experience. Even with today's crowd-sourced review sites, one can still expect to encounter a bad restaurant or two, especially while vacationing in an unfamiliar place. But with Marta and Dan's expertise, this inconvenient reality can be entirely avoided. Tasting Kauai's East Island food tour was an excellent way to start our 3 week vacation. Not only were the owners/guides knowledgeable and passionate about Kauai's local food scene, but they were truly great company. They're the couple you'd love to have over at a BBQ. Additionally, they helped us find the true culinary gems of Kauai, and introduced us to the owners and chefs that excel at sourcing their ingredients locally and organically. The tour included a variety of different cuisines, each tasting more delicious than the last. The portions left nothing to be desired, and one comes away feeling satiated and satisfied. Check out their App, "Tasting Kauai Restaurant Guide." It's worth the $10 to know where to spend your money. A big thanks to Marta and Dan. Now, we know exactly where to, and where not to eat on the Garden Island.
