I would not recommend this bus tour. I would highly NOT recommend booking with TripAdvisor either. We paid extra for the night tour on St Patrick’s Day. The bus driver was rude and had no time for us when we advised her the audio headset didn’t work. She advised we share headsets with others in the middle of Covid times. Then when the bus stopped she realized it was half of the upper deck that had no audio. The audio portion is the reason we pay for the tour. I might as well have drove through the city at night. Then she tried to fix it. When she could not she told travelers they could come back the next night but we had scheduled to be in Roanoke, VA so we couldn’t stay. She also ran a red night and cut close to trees which wacked people in the head. I contacted Big Bus Tours for a refund of at least the night tour portion and they agreed through the customer service portal. However because I bought tickets on TripAdvisor I had to contact their customer service. After talking with two agents they refused to refund the money. Ridiculous and terrible customer service. Never trust a 3rd party app, book directly with the tour itself.

I am sorry for your experience. It is frustrating when you do not believe you have received value for your money, or have adequate answers to your questions. We have plenty of headsets and would never encourage you to share headphones. Each set comes pre-packaged. Perhaps there was an issue with the audio system, and we apologize for that. However, the answer would never be to share headphones as headphones are rarely the issue. Please try us again in the future, perhaps we can give you a better experience.

This was the WORST tour I have ever been on! We sat in line for over an hour to wait to get on the bus and then they had us load bus and proceed to sit another half hour. They gave us no reason why. Then we drove around on the bus for two hours and the headphones did not line up with the tour. In fact, the majority of time they had us listening to music instead of the tour because the bus driver forgot to have the tour going to the stops. It was terrible! We brought it up to the bus driver but he did not do anything. It was so bad! A waste of a night and a waste of a day. This big bus tour was A BIG BUST! Awful , awful awful. Please go with Old Town Trolley. I should have listened to myself on this one but thought the night tour looked good with Big Bus so I booked with them. It was so bad that I cancelled the remaining 2 days of the tour because it would have been a waste of our time.

Rhonda: The bus leaves for night tour at 8pm. The reason you were waiting is because you showed up very early. If we would have left at 6:30 when you showed up, it would not have been at night. Additionally, we begin loading at 7:15pm, we admit it is a long wait, however when you are loading 275-350 people on 5-6 buses, it takes coordination and time. The music you heard is mostly on Channel 1 which is our live channel. In order to hear the tour, you have to be on Channels 2-9. Thank you for traveling with us. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations.

1) Pickup spots were confusing; 2) You should just scan QR code on phone- why did we have to keep the small piece of paper for 2 days? 3) Some tour guides were nice, but others were rude 4) Many of the routes were closed. We did not get to go to the Lincoln, Jefferson, war memorials, FDR exhibits. I was looking forward to those. 4) $128 for two people- I did not think this was a good deal. We probably could have taken Ubers or walked and that would be a better deal.

Thanks for riding with us. The Blossom 10K really shut down many stops as the entire National Mall was shut off from the Monument to the Lincoln. Downloading the Big Bus Tours app and enabling your locations will help you with real-time info including stops and routes.
