This small-group, or private tour focuses on the rainforests and waterfalls along Mauna Kea volcano’s famous Hamakua Coast, and Kilauea volcano in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. The Volcano Van Private Tours

This tour is an awesome way to experience the Big Island's diverse scenery while expanding your knowledge of Hawaii in a small-group setting. After pickup from your hotel, embark on your journey to the lush rainforests that populate the east side of the island. Cruise along Highway 19 and pass though the town of Waimea, From Waimea, travel along the eastern flank of Mauna Kea volcano, commonly known as the famous Hamakua Coast. Stop at Laupahoehoe for a visual example of the Pacific Ocean's powerful ability to carve rugged pinnacles. Continue along jungle roads to Akaka Falls. After lunch, head toward Hilo along some of the island's most scenic backroads wind along through lush jungle gorges and past epic ocean vistas. Cap your tour with a visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and Kilauea volcano. Gaze into Kilauea's vast summit caldera. Travel the east rift zone of Kilauea along Chain of Craters road and lava flows old and new. Enjoy plenty of time to look around.

We booked a private tour for the two of us. It started at 9:00AM and ended at 8:30 PM. What a great day. We saw the volcano, waterfalls, a black sand beach, and lots more. Our tour guide/driver Scott is very knowledgeable about the volcano, flora, and Hawaii in general. The tour includes lunch and we stopped for a nice dinner before returning. Give this tour a try. It’s a winner.

From the moment Scott picked us up from our hotel, it was an incredible journey. Scott was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about volcanoes and everything about the big island. He's super easy to get along with and has an awesome sense of humour. Not only did this tour allow my husband and I to see volcanoes, but we also got to tour around Big Island and see rainforests and small towns. It was an awesome opportunity. Once we got to the volcano, it was beyond incredible and so different to what I thought I knew. We got to see the lava lake after sunset which was fantastic. Unfortunately lava wasn't flowing that day but we understand that it's a natural process and Scott can't do anything about it, but showed us lots of other cool sights around the national Park. Would highly recommended. We were so lucky because there were 4 people including my husband and I on the tour.

we had 3 weeks in Hawaii on 4 islands so did a lot of tours as we are Aussies and didn't want to drive on the other side of the road. This was not only an exceptional day but incredible value for money compared to other tours. Scott was such a warm, friendly guy and so knowledgeable about volcanoes, which really interest me. Several times during the day he gave us options about what we wanted to do next. This tour was the highlight of our whole holiday and we are so glad we did it. Scott picked us up from our hotel in Kona, provided lunch and entry to the National Park so this was incredible value. Although it's not guaranteed, we were lucky enough to see some lava exploding. This was such a relaxing but interesting day seeing a variety of beaches / coloured sands, jungle, and many different eco zones, waterfalls etc. Absolutely brilliant and not to be missed.
