With wingspans that can reach more than 20 feet (6 meters) across, manta rays have no teeth or barb on the tail. We did see manta rays and that was very cool. Saw some other random fish in the water. Overall, though, the experience was chaotic and not peaceful at all. We took a speedboat with like 30 people on it out in the pitch dark with music blaring. The guides gave very little overview of what was going to happen until after we were out on the water. Then they basically said “jump in, swim to this floating light thing and look down. Let us know if you aren’t cool with that.” When its pitch dark, this is all a little troubling. Then once we swam to the thing there was a lot of jostling for space and general confusion and chaos. Did see a bunch of manta rays, that was like five minutes of “wow” in two hours of jostling, noise, cold and confusion. Someone also got a bad jellyfish sting so we all had to get back in the boat a little early. So that also cast a pall. With a smaller group and more focused group of guides, I think it would be more awesome.

Aloha Andrew, I have already messaged you personally. I know we had to bring in outside guides as some of ours were sick. But still, that is no excuse for their behavior. I want to assure you this was handled and we deeply apologize. I am glad you got to view the wonderful manta rays ❤

Even though my wife and I are non swimmers, they made us comfortable on top of the raft and from there we had a spectacular view of the Mantas. The boat ride itself was amazing and the crew very helpful and knowledgeable.

Aloha, yes I remember speaking with you. You were on Manta Boat #2 with the extra big light raft. I really recommend Manta Boat #2 for nonswimmers and children who might be a bit afraid of the nighttime waters. Glad you enjoyed :)

Great crew and seeing the mantas! One of the crew members had hot chocolate ready to go for everyone once they got out of the water. Was a great extra touch.
