Had such a great day on our tour yesterday! Rebecca was wonderful.
We learned so much about Fredericksburg's history that we didn't know. Such a fascinating story of the life of this wonderful place! Most wineries were shut down due to Covid, but Rebecca still managed to make it a beautiful day, taking us to Pedernales Cellars to learn how wine is made.
We got a behind the scenes look at the operations and even got to go into the wine cellar and see the lab.
Next, we headed to Hye Cider Company. This was a really cool experience where we learned about "cyser" (not cider). We also enjoyed lunch at the same location from Hye Thai (delicious Pad Thai!).
From there, we got a call that the last winery we were supposed to visit had closed doors due to Covid, so Rebecca took us to the Safari Winery. We weren't able to legally do a tasting, but we purchased a beautiful bottle of Chenin Blanc and picked up some tshirt souvenirs and talked to the employees about the wine. That evening, we returned home and enjoyed the Chenin Blanc and some of the cyser we had purchases.
Thank you, Rebecca, for finding a way to make it a wonderful day despite the craziness going on. And thank you again for catering to our tiny group of just two people even though you usually have a minimum. It was a fantastic experience and we loved every minute!
