Brooks Falls

The Air Taxi flight is approximately 1.5 hours each way and you will spend approx 3 hours on the ground as the pilot waits for you to complete your trip! (weather can affect time on ground) If you are looking for the iconic bear catching jumping salmon then this is the trip for you! The trip begins with a float plane flight to Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park. Once we land on the lake you will go to the visitor center for a Bear Etiquette film and briefing given by the Rangers at Brooks Camp, next you hike to the falls and view bears from the safety of platforms built by the National Park Service. The main falls platform is about a 1.5 mile walk from the Visitor Center. You walk at your own pace here and there are outhouses and other facilities..

We (a group of 5 people) flew to Brooks Falls to watch bears catching fish August 25th. Trent is very professional and told us all the things that we need to be aware of. He even reminded me how to use tripod in case that a lot of people were in the platform. The trip is super and we saw 3 bears in the falls and 3 others when we walked out. Will recommend Trent for sure.

The entire experience with Trent was amazing. The flight to Brooks camp was smooth and he did a wonderful job of sharing insights on the landscape, Katmai National Park and the wildlife throughout the flight. My son was even able to sit up front as co-pilot and thoroughly enjoyed having such a cool experience. We were slightly delayed leaving Brooks Falls and Trent was incredibly patient with us as we navigated through a few last pictures. I would HIGHLY recommend Adventure Airways for a trip over to Katmai.

We had a wonderful trip to Brooks Camp with Trent! We had a great flight over to Brooks Camp at Katmai - we were there during the Swan Lake fires, so some of our views were a but smoky, but when it was clear, Trent pointed out where we were and what to look for on the flight. Once at Brooks Camp, we were able to observe several bears salmon fishing for quite a long time. We then enjoyed our flight back to Homer. Trent is pleasant and knowledgeable and always keeps safety in mind when flying. I would go with him again, as it was such a treat!
