When we asked about taking water, we were instructed not to take our own water on the bus since we may not have the same bus picking us up or on the river because they did not want it falling out and littering the River. They said that we should "pre-hydrate" on the bus trip to the river with water that they provide. This did not happen. We were never offered any water on the bus trip or any on the 4.5 hour rafting trip. AND, the bus was 30 minutes late picking us up so we were 5.5-6 hours without water. Once the bus arrived they offered us a dixie cup size cup of water while heading back. For some people, especially anyone not used to altitude, this could be a serious issue and could turn in to a medical emergency. In fact, a friend in our group got sick in the car ride back to Denver with most likely altitude sickness.
Another issue we had was the pricing of the trip photos. They charged approx. $25.00 for 1 image + tax and $54.99 + tax for all images. We decided to purchase all the images. When we were paying the total came to $65.00. I questioned how much the tax rate was and they said it was tax as well as a "user-fee" for the photographer to get into the National Monument. I would not have had an issue if it stated that up front. With that being said, we felt scammed and did not purchase any images.
I was in contact with the owner following our experience to relay my concerns.

Hi 464jamie,
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your experience. Like you and I discussed, the water issue definitely was a miscommunication as we typically encourage guests to bring water bottles as long as they can be clipped into the raft. I have addressed you concerns with our staff and we'll make sure to be very clear about what is and what isn't allowed in the raft.
Regarding the photos, we never mean to mislead any of our guests, and like we talked about, it's a third party company that takes the photos and controls the pricing. We merely sell them to our guests for a commission. I have shared all of your concerns to our photo company and we'll see what we can do going forward.
Thanks again for your time and your feedback, 464jamie, and we hope you have a great rest of your summer!
Regards,
Mike Kissack
