I’ll admit that I was hesitant to take this tour on a full sized bus because I had heard of all of the curves thru the park. Anyway, Dan, our bus driver, had no problems maneuvering the bus along the tour route. Dan is a great story-teller and kept the entire day interesting. It was fascinating to see him navigating thru all of those tight tunnels, but he was able to make it look simple.
I just loved the stories of how Mr. Rushmore came to fruition, and how the roads/tunnels came about within the park. We also went to Custer State Park, and Crazy Horse.
The small issue I had with this tour is that it was not clear that a pancake breakfast was included with the tour. It seemed optional to me. I had eaten before I came.
Also, I do not recall the option of being able to add the chuck wagon dinner to our tour package. However, we purchased it as we were picking up our tickets, and are glad we did. Those gentlemen really put on a show that night!
The tour combined with the dinner show was a long day. We needed to take a nap in the car before they opened the doors for the chuck wagon dinner/show. Even though it was a long day, we both agreed that it was well worth it.
