I went to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay on August 2nd with my husband and 4 teenagers, who were excited to experience the roller coasters. We arrived shortly after the park opened and it rained intermittently in the morning. Not a single ride was operating during this time. We purchased drink bottles and ate lunch believing a ride would open at some point (because according to their app, the rides were open and had short wait times). Eventually we heard the sound of a roller coaster being tested, so we got on line. It sounded like a stampede of excited park goers racing toward the lines. Suddenly, a storm began & the ride never actually boarded passengers. At 5:30, we got on the guest services line to attempt to get a refund, but the customer service supervisor, Heather, was rude and condescending and did not care that we spent over $500 to NOT RIDE A SINGLE RIDE. She said since our tickets were scanned, all she could offer was a rainy day return ticket. I inquired as to why they wouldn’t warn people that no rides were operable & explained that we felt we had been scammed. She was completely unsympathetic. Additionally, she said since we bought tickets from AAA…gasp…a 3rd party….we would need to take our issues up with them. How would AAA know how bad our experience was at the park? Anyone could call & claim that something went wrong on their visit. If you accept a ticket, you should be responsible for dissatisfied customers at your own park. I’ve been to many Six Flags parks, Disney & Universal and NEVER experienced anything like this. Please don’t go!!!! I promise you’ll regret it!
