This living exhibit features hundreds of free-flying butterflies, typically more than 50 species at any given time, birds from around the world and an assortment of other animals including turtles and fish to experience firsthand. Skilled interpretive staff are available to help answer questions and provide visitors with a personal and highly engaging experience.

Visitors to Powell Hall will encounter signature permanent exhibition halls that explore the state’s unique habitats and rich cultural history, including information about some of Florida's early Native peoples. Visitors may view a Calusa Indian welcoming ceremony and mammoth and mastodon skeletons from the last ice age.

So many butterflies species everywhere you looked. There also small birds and some fish as well. You a literally swarmed as they fly around you. So many color variations and so effortless in their flying. Very cool to see.

Saved money buying tickets on line. Love the Rainforest/Butterfly garden. Hundreds of beautiful butterflies everywhere. One sat on my arm until my husband had the camera ready and, then flew away. 😁

This is our first visit to The Butterfly Rainforest. It is smaller than other butterfly habitats we have visited in Florida, but it is equally delightful, and it surprisingly had butterflies I had not seen elsewhere. Be sure to afford yourself ample time to visit both the Rainforest and the Museum. They are both worth your time.
