• THIS IS YOUR ENTRY TICKET - NO VOUCHER EXCHANGE NEEDED - Proceed directly to attraction entrance and present your ticket(s) for entry to the California Academy of Sciences.
• Each traveler must have a unique ticket for entry – please ensure you have all tickets ready for entry upon visiting the California Academy of Sciences.
• No refunds or exchanges for lost or stolen vouchers. 
• Open Year Round. Not valid on Blackout Dates. Last entrance is one-hour before closing.
• Minimum age is 21 years. Valid , physical photo ID is required
• California Academy of Sciences: EU24
• Planetarium show passes (sold separately, $5 each) are available on a first-come, first served basis and can be reserved at the planetarium pass pick-up desk across from the planetarium entrance.

NOTE: Guests are no longer required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative test in order to enter the Academy. However, we still strongly encourage all guests to stay up-to-date with their vaccinations.

Please note that the Academy’s vaccination policy is subject to change as local conditions and public health guidelines continue to evolve. We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we work to keep each other healthy. For the most up to date information, please visit https://www.calacademy.org/reopening.

  • Planetarium passes are required for planetarium shows during NightLife. Tickets do sell out quickly, to guarantee a spot reserve your planetarium show passes (additional $5) in advance at tickets.calacademy.org/nlpl/ or by scanning the QR code in the lobby as soon as you arrive. Reservations are first-come, first served.
  • Last entry into the rainforest dome is 7:30pm.
  • All food and drink must be enjoyed in the Academy Café or outdoors.

Drink as much as you can in the open bar at the beginning of the tour cause it costs you money to get a drink after the tour.

We loved our time here! Only regret was not getting the VIP passes but still got to see just about all of what we went to see.

This was a waste of money as no-one was interested in the exhibits, everyone just wanted to dance to the too-loud music and drink to excess. I don't know why people who want this don't go to a nightclub instead?!
Everybody else's drunken behaviour ruined the visit for us, and it surely must have scared the animals in the rainforest and aquarium, etc?
