We booked the Calistoga Bike & Wine Tasting Tour, which included a delicious lunch. Our guide, Catherine, was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and made sure that we were OK throughout, as we're not super experienced riders. We visited three vineyards, with about 2-3 miles distance in between on country roads, which is very do-able for moderately-fit people (no need to be an athlete). I hate riding up hills and Calistoga is pretty flat, so that was perfect for me. It was a fun experience, with gorgeous scenery, fresh air, and a great guide. Overall, a more intimate take on the run-of-the-mill van tours, which we've done numerous times. Would definitely recommend. /// TIP #1: Wineries typically charge $15-25 per tasting per person (not included), which they will usually waive with the purchase of a bottle over $45. So if you're a couple, buy two bottles and your tastings are free. However this varies, and some wineries may have up to a 3 bottle minimum purchase to waive ONE tasting. TIP #2: Do avail yourselves of the dump buckets and avoid drinking the entire tasting at each stop, as riding tipsy ain't as fun as you'd think, LOL! You may be pretty buzzed and tired by the time you get to your last winery (we ended up splitting the last tasting). TIP #3: Tip your guides. They work hard. For me, our guide going out of her way to purchase such an excellent and healthy lunch really drove home how much she cared. Thank you!
