You want to book in advance to be sure, these tours get sold out! I got super lucky that I was travelling alone and found a spot two days in advance (someone had canceled!). I will have vivid memories from this fun time for a long time!
Right after I booked, my confirmation included a ton of details about what to bring. I followed the instructions and was grateful for the tips on what to wear and bringing a change of clothes. The crew is fun, attentive and very conscious about safety. We had infants and young kids on the boat, everyone had fun at their own comfort level. Some people stayed on the boat and most went into the water to snorkel.
Tim, the captain, is funny and takes him time on the way in and out to the Kealakekua Bay, telling stories about the landmarks and the history of the places we pass along the way. The ride in and out is gorgeous, passing through all the shades of blue possible.
Johan and Kenny were great, getting all comfortable with the snorkeling gear, and being gracious hosts all morning and through the duration of the trip. They are super fun to hang out with and do so crazy backflips off the boat! Lunch was tasty and abundant and they brought along plenty of water and drinks.
The spot where we stop is beautiful! Snorkeling, I saw many different types of fish of all sizes and shapes, even though the visibility was not perfect. I was amazed at the beautiful colors and at the variety of specimens of fish, I saw.
On the way back we spotted a bunch of spinner dolphins and got close to them a few times. So fun! We also stopped by a cave, and a couple of other beautiful spots to take in the scenery.
I would highly recommend the experience with this company. It was perfect!
