So, really, initially I was afraid of ziplining and was not going to do it but with a little encouragement a couple of days ahead of time decided to join my buddies (we are 53-74 in age). I ended up loving it and would totally do it again. Preston and Derek (the A team) were amazing. The training session was so helpful and through that I gained so much confidence in them and in the equipment that I was perfectly fine. Yes, it’s a bit hard pulling your feet up off the ground the first time to descend down and across an itty-bitty cable to the other side of the canyon, but once you’ve done it you can keep doing it again. Every time (you do 6 different lines), they gave such clear instructions to us and caught us at the end, that we never actually had to use our “hand” brake to slow down to reach the platform. No worries at all. These guys were hysterically funny and witty and totally professional and with their incessant laughter therapy for us it totally took the pressure off, and we were left with no fear. Do this-you can do it-and you’ll even do it again!! I recommend wearing sneakers, leggings (women)/comfortable pants, a long sleeved wicking shirt, sunscreen of course, croakies with sunglasses. Bring a water bottle for your couple of trips back to the home platform.
