The summer crowds gone and the weather perfect! Time to use our food tour gift certificate that we’ve been hanging on to since Christmas! We experienced a low-key, relaxed tour of 8 varied food & beverage purveyors. Carlsbad Village is not a big city, so don’t expect a big city type tour, but that is part of the charm. We felt like we were visiting a friend and being introduced to her favorite haunts, and even though we are locals from a nearby city, we learned a bit of Carlsbad history and now see the area in a different light. The 3 ½ hour tour moves at a relaxed pace and gives you time to chat and learn about the others in your group. Our group was small with only 5 plus our guide which made for a more intimate experience, but the tours go with over 20, or as few as 1. Cherie, the owner and guide, is personable, knowledgeable and accommodating. Parking is easy on street or in the nearby Coaster lot. You can even come into to Carlsbad via the Coaster train and walk just a few steps to the start of the tour. If you are in the area, you should seriously consider taking her food tour!
