I've been talking about getting to Catalina for YEARS! A business trip brought us to Long Beach and I thought, "Why not go a couple of days early and visit Catalina on Valentine's Day?" Getting there on the Catalina Express was lovely. Great waiting area, great onboarding, lovely seating area on the ferry with plenty of windows. Please bring cash if you want to buy something at the bar, please get there early if you want a seat next to a window because the line gets pretty long, but all the seats are good. There are some 2-seaters, 3-seaters, and some seats with a table. It was a 70-minute ride for us. The staff were all super friendly and pleasant. Excellent experience all around.

Excellent experience for a day trip. We had never been to Catalina Island and had a lot of fun being there for a day. It's a wonderful, historic place to walk around and shop. Did not get to the center of the island, but plan to on a future trip.

Our lunch for 7 was so disappointing. This restaurant is now really cutting short on serving sizes. Shrimp kabobs so small, not like previous when they where plump and larger. Shrimp taco's only 3" taco's x 3 on plate served with skimpy shrimp cut in 1/2. So small!! Fishermans fish was so upsetting for 3 of us. The fish was no bigger than 3" x 4" filet at it's best. Served without plantain as they ran out but given no substitute side. But served with a tbsp. of coleslaw - wow!! Completely disappointed. And the young server really was not trained well, and had no backup. Very unpersonable! Not to mention they really could try to do better control on the fly's that swarm your table and plates when food comes. Like has no one heard of bug jar's. Sorry but this family who has been on the Island for many, many years will NOT be returning!
