I came very early during a week day. Shop was supposed to open at 08:00 but was still closed at 08:15.
Came back later on. Person at the till was not particularly friendly/helpful, despite me being the only customer in the shop. Was busy reciting all the optional extras and insurances I should buy. Booking online for a whole day is about half the price of what is charged in the shop, and includes more items (like a lock). However, it's possible to book online and pick up a bike instantly, once the QR code is received.
The lock was very heavy duty (chain type) but then all wheels and saddle have quick removal, so one lock is not going to secure well the bike.
Regarding the bike, it was well used, quite damaged/marked, not that clean and probably not maintained recently (lots of clicking noises). When they write "top of the range Trek bikes" on their website, it's more bottom of the range and very basic. Bikes are quite heavy, don't have mudguards nor even a bell (would be useful in Manhattan!).
Overall, it's quite cheap (when booking online) but probably not the best place to rent a half decent well maintained bike for a whole day.
