She has created and led tours for over fifteen years in New York's galleries and museums and will take you to the most talked-about exhibitions of the moment. In our small group, you can ask questions and share observations while your guide fills in background info on the on the best shows in New York City!

Tours take place rain or shine and meet in a different gallery for each tour. A message with the meeting location will be sent prior to the tour.
Your tour guide is licensed by New York City's Department of Consumer Affairs as a tour guide and is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA USA).
Some galleries have stairs. Please let us know in advance if you need to avoid stairs so we can make sure the itinerary is accessible.
Travelers should be able to stand and walk for two hours. Seating is usually not available.

On this 2-hour tour, you’ll visit approximately seven of the most important contemporary art gallery shows of the moment, seeing and discussing artwork in variety of media. Exhibitions change every five to six weeks, so there is always something new to see. Your itinerary will include a range of mega-galleries and smaller space showing artwork by nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.

Merrilyn is an art major and a art teacher and has deep knowledge of the gallery scene in New York. She has been doing this a longtime so she was able to talk about the artists, the galleries and the evolution of the scene over time in a very professional way. She brought an iPad to expand the knowledge of each artist we viewed. She was articulate in a down to earth way and made our discussion fun and interesting. My partner is a successful artist on her own so she gauged what places to take us. She was able to talk to both the knowledgeable and the neophyte customer at the same time and keep our interest. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR. We also did the lower east side tour with her and it was also totally wonderful. Very much worth the price.

Very enjoyable way to spend the morning. Merrily was engaging, knowledgeable, and approachable. She allowed us to see New York's art district like we likely wouldn't have on our own. She gave us an idea of what's going on in the neighbourhood, as well. Highly recommended.

Merrily is an excellent guide, she was calm and engaging and incredibly knowledgable. She chose great shows and made them even more interesting by adding background information about the artist and the works and engaging in conversation if we had questions. It was a delightful experience--I look forward to my next tour with Merrily!
