Usually, they say you get what you pay for, but this tour is an amazing value where you get so much more than you pay-- inexpensive, engaging, informative, educational, and fun for the whole family. Adults are free with paying children! They "hunt" real pirate booty, learn local history, and learn about the tools pirates, soldiers, and early settlers used hands-on. Parents (and grandparents) enjoy it too. Captain Scott is phenomenal. You can tell he loves his job and children and that he has a passion for teaching children. It doesn't hurt that he's dressed as your littles' favorite tv pirate: Jake. Must see for children of all ages!

Terrific tour! Fun for Pirates of all ages! Truly a great experience for the whole family, learned a lot about historical St Augustine and the history of pirates and the old city. Adults and kids learned and laughed a bunch.

Kids' reviews: "It was the best ever!" "I learned so much!" "Oh my gosh so fun!" "I'm sorry I said I didn't want to go mom..." "I can't believe you did this for us!" "Mom, you're the best!" "How did he come up with all that fun stuff!" "Hey do you remember when....." My review: Captain Scott was even better than I expected having read the glowing reviews. My eldest is obsessed with pirates and history and he learned a lot (and showed off some stuff he knew). I was a little nervous the tour would be too "young" for him (we were celebrating his 13th birthday) but it wasn't at all. All three of the kids, ages 9, 11 and 13 had a blast and so did mom :) I booked a private family tour because having two boys with moderate ADHD I didn't want to ruin anyone else's tour if they got out of hand....Captain Scott kept them entertained and on the go without being overwhelming. I had nothing to worry about. It was a great mix of history, adventure, and pure silly fun. And Captain Scott is a wealth of knowledge on the area as well. Kids get to to see artifacts, do real demonstrations (after years of hiking with them, Captain Scott did a better compass demonstration for them than I ever had...), learn about the area, have fun and loot local stores! There are so many great bonuses with this tour. Even without the bonuses it's worth it. With them it's the best bargain in all of Florida!
