I'm a native New Yorker but living overseas. I have always read widely about New York history and one of my favorite periods is the Gilded Age. My children gave me a gift of a Gilded Age tour by New York Historical Tours for Christmas and it was just fabulous! Kevin Draper was our Tour Guide - he is extremely knowledgeable. I've done other small tours but Kevin was by far the best guide of any tour I've been on. Buildings that I've passed for years were suddenly "revealed" and Kevin could answer any question about the backgrounds of buildings we were viewing and the people that had inhabited them. I would encourage anyone visiting New York to book one of the tours offered... it will be the highlight of their visit!

Hands down, the best tour/guide we've ever had. Kevin is the best guy to get and he knows his stuff. We had a great time learning about the history of New York and some of our founding fathers. This two hour tour was worth every penny. We did a private tour and it's honestly the best way to go. We saw other companies/groups and they were having a hard time hearing and keeping up with the groups. Plus, none of the other guides looked to be as excitesd or energetic about history and this great city. Thanks Kevin! Awesome, just awesome. We will definitely be back to go through the next chapter in history. J&K from Texas

Being a big history fan, especially of early American/New York history, for my birthday my fiance got me a historical walking tour covering the Founding Fathers and Alexander Hamilton etc. It was amazing. Our guide Kevin was incredibly knowledgeable and professional; you can tell he is an expert at this, from his impeccable touring abilities (talking to us and pointing out buildings/places while also continuing along answering our questions and avoiding other crowds of people etc, which in NYC is an art) to his impressive handle on the vast history that covers NYC over the times (although our tour was limited to Founding Fathers history, he would also detail historical aspects from later in history if relevant to any questions/discussions we had, which were numerous). I couldnt be happier with our experience. Highly recommended.
