I really wish I could have given this a 5-star rating, but honestly, the tour was less than spectacular. As a Providence local who knows the good spots and the not-so-great ones—the authentic and non-authentic—this tour only took us to two decent stops; the rest were disappointing.
With my family visiting, I thought this would be a fun opportunity since I've never done a tour like this in Providence. Unfortunately, it didn't take us to any of the REAL Federal Hill Italian gems like Andino's, Constantino's, or The Old Canteen. The first location was particularly bad—they claimed their meatballs were homemade daily and a specialty, but as a 100% Italian, I can tell you they were store-bought and tasted like rubber bouncy balls. This restaurant has had issues before when it was Zooma, and it seems to have gotten worse.
Additionally, the tour listing promises 6 stops, but we only went to 5. It also advertises filling portions—what a joke! We got tiny tastes, which is fine, but stop with the false advertising. I expected to be full by the end, but instead, I had to take my family on our own food tour of Federal Hill right after. The tour guide read from a script the whole time, which detracted from the authenticity of the experience.

Hello Tom-
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for the Federal Hill Crime & Cuisine Tour. I'm sorry that you had a lackluster experience- the way we choose our vendors has to do as much with their cuisine as their ability to handle regular large groups- it sounds like we didn't go to your favorites, and I apologize for that. I will attest that the food at Appia is always very good when I eat there! I'd be curious to know which stops you felt were decent and which you found disappointing.
Our tour lists five restaurant stops, in addition to one quick stop in DePasquale Square, which is not a restaurant. I can understand that a quick glance at the list can make this confusing. Additionally, I personally find that the helpings are generous, but I can also understand that being up for interpretation.
We are a small but growing company, and a few of our guides are new and still in the process of committing the script to memory. I apologize that this may have affected your experience, but hope you understand that the practice (and this feedback) is what will make them better.
