This boat and island tour is very enjoyable and with Captain Pete as a guide, extremely informative. The boat ride to the island, the day we went, was quite windy but we pulled along side various natural things and were able to see how oysters grew and were harvested. We also saw dolphins and white pelicans.
The golf cart tour of the island was bumpy but informative. Unfortunately the prices for the artisan pieces are way out of line so no one on our tour bought anything.
The boat ride back was very cold and very rough. When we got back to shore, I could hardly climb the ramp, it was so steep because of low tide.
It would seem that with a 1 pm departure, that some thought might have been given to being able to buy food on the island and not just to rely on some terrible granola bars. Dress warmly and in layers. In the late winter, a touque and gloves might be a good idea.
