Honestly, our carriage ride was a disappointment. As I skim other reviews tonight, I am left wondering if our guide Sean had an off day. It seems normally he gives what I had been hoping for- an informative tour filled with historical facts. Today, unfortunately, we were shown Sean's previous rental lodgings, as well as his college campus, and also heard about the cost of rent in Charleston. As the tour began, he mentioned he had an hour to share hundreds of years of history. The history talk just never got started. Bummer...
On a positive note, the horses, carriages, and barn facility are quite nice. We are horse people, so know what we are seeing. Additionally, one of the female barn staff took the time to show us a sample of the "tires" that are worn in addition to regular horse shoes. She was an asset to the business, and I regret that I did not get her name.
