White House
The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States. Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., the house was designed by Irish-born James Hoban, and built between 1792 and 1800 of white-painted Aquia sandstone in the Neoclassical style. It has been the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams. When Thomas Jefferson moved into the house in 1801, he (with architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe) expanded the building outward, creating two colonnades that were meant to conceal stables and storage.
7
Lincoln Memorial
This beautiful and moving tribute to the nation’s 16th president attracts millions of visitors annually. Like its fellow presidential memorials, the Lincoln was a long time in the making. Although it was planned as early as 1867 — 2 years after Lincoln’s death — Henry Bacon’s design was not completed until 1912, and the memorial was dedicated in 1922. Worst tour guide. Some of the information he gave us was incorrect and he never stopped talking! Tour was too long. We didn't finish until 11 pm.

This was a 3 hour tour, but it went by quickly since there were quite a few stops when we got out of the van and walked around sites. And such comfy seats when we were in the van! The tour guide was so informative - he knew everything about American history! A very cool 3 hour experience.

This tour is run by Loba not astra. It's the same tour being advertised by Loba. There was a ton of confusion with people trying to figure out the tour they were supposed to be on. We ended up having 3 buses, all Loba to take everyone. Though the tour I booked was supposed to be capped at 60, there were 75 people at least. I was led to believe this would be a night tour with illuminated memorials but the first half happens while it's still light out. Only three of the sites were visited while it was dark, however one of them was the Korean war Memorial which is beautiful at night. you also have to choose between the Lincoln memorial and the Korean war Memorial because they are at the same stop. You have 20 minutes there which is hardly enough time to even get up to Lincoln with all the other tourists there. You are dropped off at each site and given a time you need to be back at the bus. The tour guide/driver tells some jokes and points out some other buildings along the way. We really liked our driver but the tour was nothing special. Save the money and ride the circulator for $1 per ride to each site during the day and then visit the Korean war memorial at night if you want to see that.
