Since our daughter introduced us to to J Reiger& Co in December, 2020, my wife & I have been back 3 times! We absolutely loved it & have been back 3 times with different groups to introduce them! They knocked it out the park on our Our First trip! Brunch, facility, ambiance & staff were phenomenal! Absolutely loved place & raves about it to friends, family & anyone who’d listen. Our second trip was adequate but not near as special as our first visit! Less excitement by staff, seated @ unacceptable small table & had to request being moved to grown up table, versus the inn table they initially seated us at. Was there for brunch & chose not to set on floor, which is only way table could accommodate food. They begrudgingly moved us, but we despite the shaky start we had a pleasant enough experience to decide to bring another small group back for our 3rd visit. Like trip 2, we had to request a different table then we were initially seated at! Food was good but restaurant didn’t play their A game again! 4th visit, we had out of town guests & wanted show them the East Bottoms, the beautiful, historic facility & enjoy brunch. Predictably by now, we weren’t they shocked to have to request a different table because eating at a 2 ft table that was located under music speakers that made & conversation difficult if not impossible! So we asked to be moved again to a more suitable “dining” table & once again had to wait while one was set up! Our server brought water & eventually came back to get our drink orders! After considerable delay, drinks were served. Food was another matter! We were informed brunch was dropped & that biscuits & gravy along wait brunch had been 86’d! Lunch was nothing special! One of the staff told us the only stable conditions was constant change & that they never knew what to expect! Because of The facility & the history provided of the East Bottoms, J Reiger & Co is still worth a visit but I’ve had better food & ambiance experiences @ Denny’s!! Too bad, place was unique & phenomenal until it became ordinary & nothing special! Hope you guys are able to restore the magic & once again become a reliable experience we can count on to bring guests! Wishing you our best! Sincerely, William Munney

Mr. Munney,
Thank you for your continued patronage of J. Rieger & Co, we greatly appreciate your diligence in communicating to us where we have fallen short. Like tens of thousands of other restaurants across the country, COVID-19 has forced us to make some difficult decisions to temporarily streamline our food and beverage operations and offerings to ensure the highest level of safety for our staff and our guests. During this very challenging time for the hospitality industry, the simplest of tasks, like moving tables, can sometimes seem overwhelming, but it is our responsibility to keep our staff focused on taking care of our guests and providing the best possible experience each time. We have fumbled, and we have the ability to do better, as pointed out by your first visit. We will continue to work consciously and enthusiastically every day to strive to provide the best possible guest experience and improve in every area. We echo your disappointment that we have made the difficult decision to temporarily limit our brunch offerings, and it is our hope that once the weather warms and the pandemic steadies, we can return to normal. We appreciate your thoughtful feedback and hope that you will continue to invite your friends to experience our spaces.
