First cruise... knew after being on the boat for 3 days with 2000 people.. we would want some couple time. You could take the train up to the pass, or buses which stop at 'some' places... etc... And to be honest... if you only have 2 people.. this was about as expensive as those shore excursions.. you book from the cruise... HOWEVER... 1. It was just a 10 minute walk from the ship. 2. They did provide the jeep, CD (more to come on that) and a folder with point by point / mile by mile / kilometer by kilometer information and pictures.. They did a good job. 3. We were on our own... our time... our pace... etc.. Pulled off when we wanted to... ate where we wanted to... 4. TAKE YOUR PASSPORTS if you head to Carcross. (don't miss it...) As advertised.. good times at your own pace.... Now.. the CD - yes.. great directions.. but it stops talking about points once you cross in to Canada...and then just talks about the history and gold rush.. not bad.. but wanted the CD for the directions instead of the book.....and you have to rely on the binder with the pics and directions. (again... it isn't bad other than you can't exactly find all of the mile markers or kilometer markings. Do: Again.. take your passport (s) Go all the way to Carcross and EMERALD Lake (lake wasn't as big as we thought or as far from Carcross as we thought... but worth it...) IF you are a camera / picture buff...take pics on thew way up and then back... the lighting will be different. Stop at the Carcross Desert.. (smallest desert on earth - no... really... it's cool) See as much as you can see before you get back on the ship.. We should've taken more time on the U.S. side.... Would like to say thanks... your prices are a little high for a jeep / car rental... but we did have fun.

We had an incredible experience and the owner, Heath was truly amazing. When I first started planning my Alaskan cruise six months out, I spoke with Heath about the different excursions while in Alaska. He recommended the DIY Jeep and ATV Tour, which were both amazing. He was first class all the way!

Easy to find in Skagway from cruise ship and quick, easy check out for Jeep. We had the Jeep all day and had an awesome,beautiful tour of the area. Went to see Emerald Lake and had a picnic lunch along the way. Would definitely recommend this to people whom don't want to get on a big bus and want some freedom to do their own thing!
