My family and I went dog mushing with three excellent guides through Rod's Alaskan Guide Service. To begi, Rod and his operation were VERY easy to deal with. Scheduling the tour was all through an easy and informative website. Payment and confirmation of our date and time were equally simple and transparent. We arrived ~15 min early, as requested, and prepared for our adventure in Rod's *excellent* facility. It's warm, well-lighted, and filled with attentive staff members. Knowing we were going out into ~5F weather, the staff verified we all had sufficiently warm gear and offered us the use of loaner gear if we needed it. They were both friendly and forehanded in making sure we'd be comfortable during our rides with the dogs. Once it was time for us to go, our group of five were assigned to three separate sleds: Jimmy, Kristen, and Jonah. ALL of these mushers were EXCELLENT! They clearly love what they do, and they love sharing it with guests. We were up to 2 people per sled, and the accommodations on the sleds were comfortable. The ride itself took place after sunset in our case, and all I can say is WOW!! It was wonderful. We even had time to meet and take pictures with the dogs, and our guides took the pictures. After we returned, since it was the last run of the evening, we got to help out in giving the dogs an end-of-day snack before we said goodbye. All in all, it was a wonderful and I'd do it again tomorrow if I could. Strongly recommend giving Rod and his mushers a chance if dogsledding is anywhere on your list of things to do.
