We visited the section of Center for Nonviolent Social Change. The entrance is beautiful. Here you can see the resting place of Dr. King and Mrs. Coretta Scott King. The area felt so peaceful. The museum is nice. There are rooms giving you information on Gandhi, which was very interesting as I did not know many things about him. There was also a room dedicated to Dr. King and Mrs. Coretta Scott King, telling of their childhoods and different aspects of their lives. There are articles of their clothing and other personal items also displayed. The Rosa Parks area was closed off while we visited however, we do plan to come back to explore more as there are other areas to see within the King Center.
We walked down to Dr. King’s childhood home however we did miss doing the tour on the inside. That is something we plan to do on our next trip. Next to his home is a gift shop which had many different books, magnets, pins, etc. on other Black leaders.
I would urge anyone to visit this site as you will learn about an important time in our history.
