From the moment Vitorino picked my adult daughters and I up at our hotel, our experience was 100% positive. We were fortunate enough to have a private tour as some other tourists had cancelled. Vitorino and his associate Roberto were very friendly and informative and thought of everything, including a cooler full of water and snacks for the day ahead.
Our first stop was Red Rock Canyon, which is a beautiful national conservation area. It was snowing when we arrived (and a bit cold) which didn't hinder our experience at all. Vitorino knew exaclty where to take us for the most beautiful views and photo opps. He and Roberto were very attentive and helpful, so that no one got hurt as some of the rocks and walking trail were a little slippery. We spent a good amount of time at Red Rock, stopping at various vistas, etc. When we left, Vitorino found a Starbucks and treated us to a hot coffee / tea-which was unexpected and greatly appreciated.
From there we went to the Seven Magic Mountains-we had no idea what to expect and were thoroughly pleased by the massive stacked and painted boulders in the middle of nowhere-It is totally worth the drive!
After that we went to Boulder City for lunch and Museum Tour with a stop at a "special" shop with local souvenirs (pertaining to folklore, etc.) before heading to Hoover Dam. We first walked across the Memorial Bridge which is a beautiful structure towering over the dam-then we went down to the dam level and again walked across the walkway. Roberto (who is an engineer) was excellent in describing the mechanics behind the building of the dam and the actual functioning of the dam. It was all very interesting.
The overall tour was suppossed to be about 7 hours, but we went a little over- Including a stop at the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign.
Overall, Vitorino and Roberto did a wonderful job and were excellent at communicating all the highlights of the various stops.
