This was the perfect way to experience the wildlife on the Elkhorn Slough. Not only is the El Cat (short for “electric catamaran”) environmentally clean, but it is also very quiet, so it glides silently through the water allowing the humans to see the slough’s inhabitants up close while not frightening them. Both the boat’s captain and the on-board naturalist were well informed, friendly, and obviously concerned about the well-being of all the creatures living in the Elkhorn Slough as well as their passengers. They paid special attention to honoring the privacy of the inhabitants while making sure their guests on the boat were informed and comfortable. Information about the area and those living in it was plentiful and binoculars and blankets were available to anyone who wanted them. I hope to return soon to experience a different season on the slough and will make sure I do it with Monterey Bay Eco Tours!!

It was great! Better than the other company. (I’m a local and went out last time on the other one) Better, quieter, bigger boat. The naturalist was wonderful too. Highly recommend !

We thoroughly enjoyed our boat trip! There was a wide variety of birdlife, otters and sea lions. It was clearly and enthusiastically explained by the naturalist on board.
