We took this air tour around Kauai in late September. The weather in Kauai is often very unstable, and it was particularly so while we were there. It was pouring rain across the entire island the morning of the day we took our air tour, but when I called Air Ventures to make a reservation for two days later, there was a break in the weather. The owner (at least I believe he was the owner) told me that the conditions were great if I wanted to go that day, and that he could book me for that afternoon, so I did. When we arrived, we were told that all flights had been canceled that day because of bad weather but they were still hoping to get out that afternoon. We took off on schedule, and it was a beautiful tour, but Waimea canyon was completely socked in and we couldn't see it at all, and there were lots of clouds to contend with along the entire flight. I felt that we had been misled about the conditions that day, and if I had known that the weather would be so unstable I wouldn't have booked the trip. Also, if I did it again I'd go in a helicopter. We saw helicopters touring the canyon and the coast later during our stay and they could get much closer to the sights and provide better views. Still, the pilot was great and overall it was a good experience. But I was terribly disappointed at not seeing the canyon.
