I called on a day when it had rained all morning and more rain was forecast throughout the day across the island. The person I spoke to, presumably the owner, said that the conditions were great that day, so I booked for that afternoon. When we arrived, the woman at the desk said that their flights from the morning had been rescheduled to the afternoon because of bad viewing conditions/low cloud cover. So, at the same time I was told that conditions were excellent, they were rescheduling flights! We had a great pilot and some wonderful views of the island, but there was a lot of cloud cover so the views were restricted, and we couldn't see into Waimea Canyon at all, which was a huge disappointment. Also, while it is a bit cheaper to fly in the fixed wing aircraft than in a helicopter, I noticed over the course of our stay that helicopters can fly at lower altitudes and can achieve closer viewing positions. If I did it again, I'd go in a helicopter.
