We booked a full day tour to the Everglades. It was tour #2 on their list.
First we got picked up in Miami down town, in a nice small bus by Ben, and he introduced us all to each other. He told us about the tour, and the “glades” on our drive out there.
Then by arrival at the national park, we met up with Stacy, who took us an amazing walk through some of the park, telling us about the life in the Everglades, showing us Alligators, also with babies, birds, turtles, spiders, snakes, fish and beautiful nature.
After the walk, we drove for a while, and in the meantime Stacy was pointing out and telling us about the life and the history of the Everglades and the Miccosukee native Americans .
We again spotted lots of alligators, birds, turtles and 2 manatees.
We had our included lunch at a nice Cuban restaurant in a small village, where we also took a 45 minutes boat trip, with captain Trevor as our guide, out in the Everglades, spotting dolphins, the endangered sawfish, pelicans, gators and much more.
After we drove a little bit again, and Stacy made a small stop, near a gas station, where a green hornet owl, hat a nest in full sight, with 2 babies in it❤️
Then we went on, to our 45 minutes airboat ride. The place was owned by a Miccosukee Native American, now called David Tiger. Amazing man!
The airboat ride included a stop at an Indian island, where stories was told by airboat captain and guide Adam. Again we saw lots of gators, birds and turtles, a former Native American trade center, where they lived and traded undtil 1987.
Then we boarded the bus again and headed back to Miami, where we got dropped of at the airport with our luggage.
Even though the tour was a bit pricey, it was worth every penny, and all guides involved in it, were very passionated and great tellers, who were more than happy to answer all of our questions.
Thank you Wild Lime Adventures and partners, for an AMAZING adventure❤️
