We booked this tour with our children to be able to see different neighborhoods and points of interest. Alex was our driver and she brought us to downtown, the farmers market, the distillery for sampling, a candy shop, the Gulch, and bicentennial park. She was surprised that we had children with us, even though our rsvp had children listed. She said she hadn't had any children on her tours since she started a few months ago, and that Nashville didn't have many kid activities. That's BS, as Nashville has plenty of kid friendly places and is obvious by looking around. The picture in Joyride advertising even has kids shown.
We would have liked to see more neighborhoods and points of interest like the advertising said. Alex wasn't prepared for flexibility and seemed she had a set agenda that was geared for 21+ crowd. I'm glad our kids were with us as Alex said most of her tours were for 21+, but we didn't want a drinking tour as we booked a point of interest tour. We could go to the bars on our own time.
Alex also was always one-upping our plans and tried to dissuade us to go to places after our tour was over. We spent many hours fine tuning our trip from reviews and recommendations, and Alex would say not to go to a restaurant or place we told her we would go to during our stay and she had a better one instead she'd recommend. That was annoying as she wasn't even living in Nashville. Let us decide where we would eat and go during our vacation. She even went as far as trying to drop us off at a restaurant she liked.
We did see some points of interest and she was informative, but she could have been more prepared for places to go that weren't drinking related. Thats not what the advertising stated. We wanted a neighborhoods tour, not an Alex personalized vacation recommendation tour.
