Our tour was led by an experienced guide and a trainee who sat in the passenger seat. The man in training, Rodney, was really the feature of the tour. He is native Hawaiian, and being a bit of a character, he added a lot of fun to the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and humorous. The driver, on the other hand, was a bit of a bore. And I can't help but mention that the two of these characters together made for a lot of banter about "weed" and drinking and sexual innuendo which added nothing to the tour. The route itself is absolutely beautiful and is something not to be missed, whatever tour company you choose, but this one was definitely rated PG-13. Also, if your interested in cultural sites, particularly those brought to the island by missionaries or businessmen, you should definitely look elsewhere. This tour is definitely from an "occupied Hawaii" perspective.

We're very sorry you were not able to enjoy your tour because of the guide's narrative. The angle of view from those born and raised in Hawaii might be different from your angle who was born on the mainland and visiting Hawaii for just a few days. The guide didn't mean to offend you anyhow. Guests often appreciate the information but perhaps it was not a good fit for your party. Thank you for sharing your opinion.
Aloha!
