Had a blast on the water with our guide, Elijah (who is entertaining, and also came from our community in California - small world!)! There is a relatively short drive from Moab, where we were picked up from our hotel to the river drop-in, where we received a very brief safety lesson.
The fun begins immediately when you enter the boat, especially when travelling with friends. There was six people in our group and two others, who joined us. Plenty of room in the boat and you don't have to do any work yourself. At several points along the river, Elijah allowed us to go in the river, which was a lot of fun and refreshing (but, not cold at all). Water is provided to re-fill your water bottles.
I would recommend thinking twice about bringing any electronics (iPhones) due to possibility of damaging them, but a "dry sack" is available in the boat to store such items when not being used.
While this was a primarily "float trip", we were surprised to experience a few patches of Class II water. Super chill, but a nice break from just floating your way down the river. Near the very end of our rafting, we chanced upon some small motorized watercraft that created some waves for us to bounce up and down upon. Very cool!
Highly recommend NavTec for rafting tours and the half-day 4X4 Canyonlands 4 wheel drive your. Solid company with long history and reputation on the river, including knowledgeable guides, of course.
Have fun!
