Descend into the many canyons of the Rio Grande by boat. Float through the spectacular scenery of the international boundary. The water level determines which canyon we float through and whether we float in canoes, kayaks, or rafts. This scenic float is great for all ages. Come explore the Chihuahuan Desert and learn about the geology, plants, and history. This is a full day trip, you will be responsible for bringing your lunch, and we have the coolers to pack your lunch in.

Терлингуа

Terlingua Ghost Town

The tour starts in Terlingua, TX. As we ride in vans to the river learn about the cultural history, geology, flora and fauna of the Chihuahuan Desert. Once at the river we will get outfitted in PFD's (personal floatation devices) and pack cameras and other valuables into dry bags. We will do a safety briefing and paddling instruction talk. After several hours of floating we will stop on the side of the river for a picnic and swim. You are responsible to pack a lunch and water bottle, we will have water to refill your bottles and coolers for your food. Alcoholic beverages are allowed in cans. We will continue our float down the international boundary.We typically return to Terlingua around 4:30 p.m.

My 7 year old son and I went on this trip the first weekend in October. Our guide was Erin and we had a great day. The 3 of us were on 1 canoe and she made sure we had a great time. The water was a little low in some areas but that did not prevent us from enjoying the scenery and having lots of memories to share.

Our team building trip included part of our team doing this day float and we floated through the Santa Elena Canyon. It was absolutely, breathtakingly, beautiful. Erica was our guide to the canyons through Big Bend National Park and I was so impressed with the amount of information shared by the guides. The geology, volcanic dikes that mar the desert, natural history and stories were a huge highlight for me. Erica was so witty and knowledgeable and not to mention kind. The views through the canyon were so amazing that photos do not do it justice at all. The trip was both relaxing and adventurous. Erica, Amanda, and George were our guides and there were 6 of us in a group of about 15 to 20. Everyone in our group was blown away by the experience and had so much fun. We laughed, we paddled, we walked, we swam, we ate, we learned, we explored, and we simply enjoyed ourselves far more than we imagined we would. If you are in Terlingua, TX or visiting Big Bend National Park, this trip is a must! I cannot wait to bring my family back to share this experience with them as well.

My friends and I did the full day canoe trip through Santa Elena Canyon. What a great experience we had! Our guides, Niq, George and Adana, were so much fun and also very knowledgeable about the area. I would definitely recommend this company.
