I cannot recommend this activity highly enough. The day starts with a trip through the Everglades and Big Cypress National Preserve. We saw an amazing number of birds along the roadside on this drive. Stacy, the guide for my trip was quick to identify all of the birds, young and mature, male, and female. On our way to the swamp walk we were fortune enough to see a pair of crested caracaras...a rare sighting. Once we were at our swamp entry, we walked in as quietly as possible, circling a gator hole, and noting the great biodiversity of the ecosystem. Stacy identified and pointed out an amazing number of plants, birds, animals, and fungi. I don't want this review to contain spoilers, so I will leave out many of the living things we were able to spot.
After changing out of our wet clothes we had lunch at a delightful local cafe in Everglades City.
After lunch we traveled to Chokoloskee for a boat ride in the Ten Thousand Islands area. We were able to see nesting osprey, dolphins, and other wildlife on this boat ride.
On the ride back to Fort Lauderdale, we stopped in Ochopee to see the smallest post office in the U.S., we saw alligators, and many more birds.
Stacy's ability to identify and speak about all of the living things on this trip really made this tour special. In addition to her vast knowledge of the local flora and fauna, she was also able to inform about local history events, natural disasters, and literature.
I highly recommend taking this tour and hope you are fortunate enough to have Stacy as your guide for the day.

We regret taking a while to respond to your review. Thanks so much for leaving it. You pointed out a lot of details about this swamp walk and boat trip experience that you went on that make it truly a one-of-a-kind trip. Thanks for doing that! Yet, you also left a little bit out too :). You leave a little bit for the next person to experience first-hand. I know Stacy really enjoyed experiencing it all with you. Thank you for coming out there with us!
