The Matanuska Glacier is the largest and most magnificent glacier in Alaska with road access. We will drive you to within about 1/2 mile of the face of the glacier, where we'll start our hike. We'll be hiking on the glacier for two to two and a half hours, and walk about 2 to 3 miles. There is little elevation change, and the hike difficulty is rated as moderate.

The glacier is about a two-hour drive from Anchorage. We will stop about half way there for a restroom break, where you will also have the opportunity to purchase coffee and whatever you'd like to have to eat while we're out. Bottled water is provided.

Ryan was amazing! My fiancé and I had issues with parking and he was so patient. Also such a knowledgeable and kind guy! The glacier tour was amazing, our guide Nick kept us all very safe and made the experience so enjoyable as well. He even found a place for us to fill up our water bottles and drink glacier water! Amazing, if you’re coming to Anchorage you need to do this tour!

Great tour! Ryan is great at communicating before the tour to make sure everything is ready to go. As we headed to the glacier, Ryan pointed out different landmarks and had a great eye and spotted animals along the way and once we were at Matanuska Glacier he explained in great detail the different formations and what makes them so impressive. Would definitely recommend!
