Fantastic overview of Bonaventure Cemetery with an extremely knowledgeable and passionate guide. Understanding the history of the property and the symbolism of John Walz’s statues made the wandering around on our own afterwards that much better! MUST DO! And ask for Connie!

We went on a chilly drizzly March day. Not a lot of flowers blooming. A little hard to hear what the tour guide was talking about. I think I would have liked to walk the cemetery instead and read about key points of interest.

Thank you for your response. Mother Nature is in charge of the weather and the blooms. We are sorry you were disappointed in the time of year you visited our beautiful cemetery. One benefit to our cars is the intimate setting and easy conversation. We welcome anyone with hearing issues to let us know and request a seat closer to the guide.

This is the best way to visit a cemetery! Connie was our guide, she is a local who has been coming to this cemetery her whole life. Her knowledge was priceless and her charm was captivating. Oddly she sounded just like Dolly Parton to us and this particular day Dolly's husband Carl had passed away... added to the comfort of our visit. If you can book the last tour of the day and you might get a few additional stops thrown in! The stories of the residents were only things you'd only hear in Savannah! The lives of these people on full display in this magnificent place. We will be back for another tour for certain!
