After being somewhat alarmed by the Grand Canyon accident in February 2018, we selected Maverick for our tour on account of its exemplary safety record and, from what we could tell, newest / best fleet of EC helicopters. These choppers have panoramic windows, contributing to a great view.
The overall experience was slick and appropriately "meaty" in duration to justify the significant price tag. The views & canyon were breathtaking, and we particularly enjoyed our time on the Canyon floor.
A word of warning: everyone pays the same price, but there are 3 seats (plus the pilot) up front and 4 in the back. The middle seats at the back have a significantly worse view, and the window seat at the front has the best. We (a couple) were told on departure that everyone would have the chance to rotate into the front - there was a party of three, ourselves, and another party of two. We had back seats on the 50-minute journey out to the Canyon. We had middle-front seats for the 10 minute journey to the refuel stop. We were then separated, and one of us had to sit in the back again (on the right, non-pilot side) for the 40-minute journey from the fuel stop back to Vegas. If you are paying almost $500 for a trip - you want to be in the front for the outbound section: 10 minutes of 100 minutes flying time felt like we'd been cheated compared with the other guests in the helicopter. Additionally, if you ARE in the back for the return trip, you want to be on the left behind the pilot for the best view on the strip.
As it was, it was still a 5-star experience - taking the advice above would have made it even better.
