We took our youngest kids to the Grand Canyon. It was easy and convenient to book room, &tickets for train package. Dinner and breakfast were included making it fabulous. There was a wide variety set up buffet style, and it was delicious (big plus). Room was quite comfortable, and after breakfast there’s a skit played out by the cowboys, who later- when returning from the canyon come onboard the train. There’s plenty of photo-props set up through the property, take advantage! On board the train we had the coach car, it was comfortable enough for our party of 4 (2adults/2kids). At the Canyon, I’d booked a bus tour (because we weren’t aware how much the kids were willing to walk; ages 5/6- I was glad I did). The only downside, I included a lunch option ( we could have done better with sandwiches on our own- and there’s also a restaurant up at the canyon that I wasn’t aware of) -next time I’ll skip that lunch (with extra fee). In case you wondered it was also buffet but we were so crammed up in that room, right away I had my husband grab a table, and quality was not like back at the hotel (Fred Harvey restaurant). Our tour guide was wonderful and so knowledgeable, not to mention friendly and offering to take family pictures. The stops (three total) were enough to take it in snap pictures and breathe in the beauty. Throughout the train ride, there’s someone in charge of the car, sharing history and knowledge, also handed out coloring books for the kids to keep busy during the ride, and made small talk with all passengers. Upon return from Canyon be ready to hand out tips for the characters involved, as well as your person in the car. Overall a great experience and we would totally do it again. We could’ve used 1 more day and check out the cute little town of Williams, instead we drove to Vegas for our next stop...Next Time!
