We were riding on the Arizona train car from Williams to Grand Canyon on the 10:30 am train on 4/2/19 seated 14 C, D, E. The ride was smooth and at steady slow pace. The coffee and snacks were simple and good. The entertainment was good. The train interior was old but clean. However, my child and I felt that we were treated differently. Other white families from Europe and other states were greeted and engaged eagerly and warmly. When one older guitar player and young NAU graduate conductor passed by us, they just kind of ignored us. The conductor tried to talk to us at the end but was minimal. We are from California. We are a mixed family with Asian and Mexican. I just felt that this train ride experience turned really tainted and negative with this differential treatment. I kind of want to forget it but my kid suddenly expressed that feeling while we were driving back to California. I suggest that management do some education for their employees. I don't want people to get in trouble. I can't force people to like different people from different backgrounds. However, you are running a public transportation company and you are ruining your own business. We probably will not think about coming back again. My kid had been here twice. Now she will never want to come back.
