Every month, my husband and i do #SurpriseSaturday dates and it was my turn to plan for this month. We both love trying restaurants we have never been to before so I thought a food tour would be a fun idea, and, i was right!
Our tour began promptly at 12:00pm and ended a little after 3:00pm. We stopped at 7 different restaurants and walked a little over 2 miles through Atlanta. So, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather.
Along the way, you stop at certain historic buildings/sites and learn about some history of how Atlanta and southern food came to be. Joy was our tour guide and she was absolutely a little ray of sunshine! She really made the tour special! The food played a big role in the tour, but it would not have been as fun if it weren't for Joy!
We've lived in Marietta pretty much our whole lives and had never been to any of the restaurants we stopped at on this tour. All of the food was deeeeelicious! Living in the south all my life, i've had a lot of BBQ, and i had the best brunswick stew i've ever had at The Smoke Ring! And, the meat pies from Panbury's....oh. my. goodness. yummm!! We also learned a lot about Atlanta that we did not know.
My husband and i both highly recommend Atlanta Food Walks!
