Atlanta may not seem like a city with its own signature dish, but it has been influenced by styles all over the world. Akila starts her tour in Castleberry Hill with the early life of Martin Luther King Jr's family and a restaurant significant to the Civil Rights Movement. From there, it goes through downtown to Sweet Auburn. The food portions are great and Akila weaves in the city's history with the neighborhoods and restaurants visited. I highly recommend for both locals and visitors!

On a beautiful Saturday my friend and I went on the Atlanta Food Walk, what a treat! The food was great but what made it special was the commentary by Akila. She made history come alive with tid-bits and stories as we meandered through historic Atlanta neighborhoods. I have been in Atlanta 35 years but was exposed to areas and information that were new to me and very interesting. While we ate a lot, it did not feel guilty after the well paced walk. I strongly recommend this tour and plan to do it again really soon!

We recently went on the Atlanta Food Walks tour. There just arent enough things to do like this in Atlanta. The host really took the time from location to location to explain the food, the history, and weaved a compelling story that took us from place to place. That made it a fascinating journey, and a delicious one! I can honestly say that was the best fried chicken ever, and quite likely some of the most amazing pralines. Truly a treat. And the best part was that after all the walking around town, you feel more knowledgeable without all the bloat! Great time, highly recommended
