Okay so there was a really great history of Atlanta component to this tour, thanks Jaimie, but the highlight was the food!!!
That’s being a little unfair to Jaimie though because she is a really excellent tour guide. Tons of energy and filled with facts and stories she made the thoroughly miserable weather seem like a minor inconvenience. It was FREEZING and as we all know, cemeteries have their own special kind of cold.
Did I mention the food yet?
We got to see the graves of, in no particular order, Kenny Rogers (from a distance), Margaret Mitchell, Bobby Jones, Dr. James Nissan, among many others. We also got a little history of the Civil War.
Let’s go back to the food! We ate at Six Feet Under, a pub and fish house with the most delicious catfish, shrimp ‘n’ grits! Highly recommended! Our next food stop was the Firepit Pizza Tavern where they served us the steak pizza and some belly pork bruschetta! Yum! Finally we had pastries at Little Tart, just behind Six Feet Under. Apparently this is a very famous patisserie and we could see why.
What we all liked about the tour was the pacing. We stated with some food, had a long-ish walk, then more food, then a short walk and pastries! Nicely done!
P.S.
We definitely recommend Jaimie!!! :)
