We felt like we stepped back in time, it is a very unique, immersive museum. The entrance is a beautiful area with so much to see, then you go up an escalator and it feels like you are going up a steep hillside. On both sides, there are life sized mannequins that are "walking" up the hill. You can hear them talking in the earphones, they talk about their journey, what it's like, etc.
The earphones automatically engage each time you walk past certain points. Each area you walk in is filled with sound. You hear wind in the prairie grasses, people having conversations about life in covered wagons, and many fascinating facts.
Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, and we appreciated all of the excellent customer service.
The ticket cost was more than fair, it is a beautiful experience for a low price.
Pioneer life is one of my favorite topics and I have been to many museums that are for this time period....this one is one of the very best.
It's worth the drive, believe me.
