Wonderful relaxing excursion The attendant was wonderful and very attentive. Saw turtles and taught 4 year old how to kayak.

Staff is friendly, location is convenient, and the river is very newbie-friendly, but pricing is now extremely expensive (TWICE the old price) and hard to justify unless you're really committed. For years we've been bringing island visitors to this location to rent SUPs. Sometimes we'd bring people here monthly. Sometimes my girlfriend and I would do it for a whim when we're up on North Shore, even though we have our own boards in Town. Until recently, you could do a package rental for a SUP paddleboard + a Shave Ice for $15/hr or $20 for two hours. (Kama'aina w/ ID $15 for 2 hours) under the prior ownership (when it was Tropical Rush). Times and ownership (now Blue Planet) have changed, and now the cheapest option is $35 for 2 hours (or discounted $5 from this for Kama'aina w/ ID). If we were to bring a family of 4 here, then, it's now twice the price ($120-140 instead of $60)... AND there's no shave ice included. Again, the location is convenient, so if you're on vacation and *really* want to rent a board for an hour or two on the river amid a longer North Shore day, you can maybe justify it. (But realize you can rent SUP boards elsewhere on the island for $15 for an entire day, so you're paying a LOT for convenience here.) Because of the price increase, we've stopped coming by monthly, and have only stopped by twice in the past two years. And only with visitors who were really committed to SUPing. Honorable mention: The Banana Bread stand on property is amazing!

Hi Joey, sorry to hear you are disappointed in the value we provide. Just to let you know, we have invested to significantly improve the property and strive to offer the best gear and overall experience available. The rate includes use of our private launch area with all the amenities. It's true that our two hour rental rate is higher than the one hour rate you can get from vendors using public beaches but we feel that what we provide is an excellent value if you compare the whole experience. It was a relaxing trip for us because we had not kayaked before and wanted to learn. We saw a few turtles but the water in the inlets are not clear, but that wasn’t an issue for us. We just enjoyed some family time!!!
